How would my innocuous shopping correlate to Christmas Creepism. I bought a big-ticket item at a mom-and-pop shop with no holiday implications. By that logic, anyone having a birthday after July contributes to early Christmas decorations, which is of course nonsense.

I used to have a checking account that was just a vehicle fund -- purchase, parts, repairs, etc. Somehow over the years, my monies (aka a ziploc bag of pennies and crumpled 1's) have kind of just clumped together... Makes it tougher to throw caution to the wind. Which is good, I guess.

I keep a totally separate boat fund. All my coaching income goes directly into the boat account, which isn’t a huge number, but it adds up when you don’t touch it. This is the ONLY way we were able to buy a boat that cost more than the value of all of our cars combined, at the time we bought it.
